THE VALUE OF TOYS

Have you ever thought the price of a toy was too much? Many times it is, but try this little formula before deciding against it. Take the price of the toy and divide by the number of hours you believe the toy will last and hold the child's or children's interest. You will then have the cost per hour.

For example, if you purchased a toy for $10.00 and it either broke after two hours of play or your child lost interest after two hours, the cost for that toy was $5.00 per hour. If you purchased a set of wooden unit blocks for $100 and three generations of children played with them for a total of two thousand hours, the cost per hour is $.05.

So, when considering the price of a
toy, also consider its value.
